    Middle School STEM Summer Camps

    Led by college cybersecurity faculty, students engage in hands-on experiential learning activities covering topics such as cryptology, electronics, and cyber-sleuthing. 

    Information on 2024 STEM summer camps will be available after the new year.

  • High School Early College: Introduction to Cybersecurity (ITS 130)

    Introduction to Cybersecurity (ITS 130) provides a remote, dual enrollment for high school students to explore cybersecurity topics and opportunities for careers. Students will develop a foundational understanding of Cybersecurity and its relation to information and network security. Upon completion of the course, students will earn 3 University of Montana college credits.

  • High School Early College: Cybersecurity Certificate of Technical Studies

    Cybersecurity Certificate of Technical Studies Program is a set of 4 courses (12 credits) that provides students with an entry-level credential that can lead to the Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Technology. This certificate program can be completed in 1 to 2 years for High School students. 

    Upon completion of the courses, students receive special recognition indicating completion of an NSA-approved Cybersecurity Center of Academic Excellence program of study. Students will have the option of testing for COMPTIA Security+, a recognized DoD certificate upon completion of ITS 222.

High School Early College Offerings 

Want to get a head start on learning about cybersecurity? We provide two early college offerings for high school students to develop cybersecurity knowledge and skills. All of the courses below are eligible for the 1-2-FREE program. Find out which option is best for you: 

Cybersecurity for High School Students Intro. to Cybersecurity (ITS 130)

Have you thought about your career path after high school? If you're interested in technology and cybersecurity, consider our Introduction to Cybersecurity (ITS) course to get a high-level overview of the industry. This course (ITS 130) offers essential information about what cybersecurity means, why this industry is important, and the types of careers available in the cybersecurity industry. As a one-semester course, the ITS is a lower-commitment offering. We encourage students who enjoy this course to pursue the Cybersecurity Certificate of Technical Studies thereafter. 

The Introduction to Cybersecurity establishes foundational knowledge for students in: 

  • Cybercrime
  • Security principles
  • Technologies
  • Procedures to defend networks

Why should you consider a Cybersecurity Early College course? 

In today's digital age, cybersecurity professionals are in high demand statewide and nationwide. The demand is continuing to grow. We encourage students to enroll in this course as a short-term commitment. This course will allow you to learn about cybersecurity, consider careers in this lucrative field, and test the waters of a cybersecurity education prior to the higher commitment of a full program.

Cybersecurity Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS) Program

Are you ready to take a deeper dive into cybersecurity? Cybersecurity CTS Program includes four courses that can be completed over 1-2 years. This program requires the following asynchronous courses: Social & Ethical Issues in CS (CSCI 215E), Cisco Networking 1 (ITS 150), Network OS: Desktop (ITS 210), and Enterprise Security (ITS 222). Upon completion of this program, students can pursue an entry-level cybersecurity career or use these credits towards an Associate's of Applied Science.
